About This Design

The "Wildwood" cover is inspired by an early 17th-century French-style binding originally crafted to house Jan Harmensz. Muller’s Passion Series — a set of engravings faithfully replicating those of Lucas van Leyden from 1521.

The original binding was made with goatskin leather tooled in gold, featuring a lush Tree of Life motif. Although Muller did not intend to mislead, many owners later attempted to pass his works off as Van Leyden originals.

Today held in the British Library, this binding’s intricate foliage design evokes creative growth, inspiration, and a reverence for the long artistic history it represents.
