Design: From An Era in Jinling painted scroll by Feng Ning (Late 18th–Early 19th c., China)

An Era in Jinling, created by Qing court artist Feng Ning and inscribed by three emperors, depicts the cityscape, daily life and customs of Song dynasty Nanjing. The more than 10-metre scroll has been called “an encyclopedia of Nanjing’s history and folk culture.”

With 533 figures, 90 animals, dozens of carriages and shops, it captures the vibrancy of a thriving city and stands as a masterpiece of traditional Chinese art.

This design is part of our collaboration with the Deji Art Museum in Nanjing, celebrating artistic heritage that bridges eras and cultures.
