Scribo Piuma Fountain Pen Hane Murakumo Limited Edition
Scribo Piuma Fountain Pen Hane Murakumo Limited Edition
The SCRIBO PIUMA Hane Murakumo is a limited edition fountain pen created at the meeting point between Italian writing tradition and Japanese Urushi craftsmanship. Produced in only 110 pieces, it is not merely a writing instrument, but an object of contemplation, shaped by light, shadow, time, and gesture.
Murakumo, in Japanese, means “gathering clouds” — an image in motion, never fixed and never repeated. This idea becomes the soul of the pen. Each piece is decorated using the traditional Nuritate Urushi lacquer technique, where freshly applied white lacquer is exposed to the smoke of a candle flame. The smoke moves freely across the surface, creating soft, unpredictable patterns that recall clouds forming and dissolving in the sky.
No two pens are exactly alike. Every shadow, mark, and subtle variation is the result of a unique moment: the movement of flame, air, heat, and the hand of the craftsman. The lacquer is left in its natural satin state, without further sanding or polishing, preserving the purity and immediacy of the process.
The result is a surface that feels alive — soft to the eye, refined to the touch, and rich with quiet depth. Light does not simply reflect from it; it settles, glides, and gathers across the pen’s form.
The PIUMA Hane Murakumo reflects a sensibility deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics: the beauty of imperfection, transformation, and the passage of time. Its surface does not seek absolute uniformity. Instead, it preserves the memory of its creation, turning every slight variation into a sign of authenticity.
Crafted in resin and finished with Japanese Nuritate Urushi lacquer, the pen features SCRIBO’s elegant oval shape with two facets, ruthenium trim on the nib and section ring, and an exclusive SCRIBO nib available in either 18kt gold or 14kt flexible gold. The ebonite feeder ensures a generous, expressive, and refined writing experience, true to SCRIBO’s reputation for exceptional nib performance.
Each fountain pen is accompanied by a handmade pouch created from authentic Japanese kimono silk. Like the pen itself, every pouch is unique, carrying its own pattern, texture, and history.
The SCRIBO PIUMA Hane Murakumo is a dialogue between Italy and Japan, between precision and unpredictability, between craftsmanship and nature. A pen that invites you to slow down, observe, and write with intention.
Like clouds, Murakumo cannot be captured. Its beauty lies in the fact that it is always changing.
